What was the meaning of ending of The Batman (2022) ??? Let's talk about it in detail.Warning !!! Major spoilers could be ahead.
In the end, we can see movie's main villain The Riddler(Paul Dano) locked up in a cell in the Arkham Asylum. And a conversation between The Riddler and an unknown character. The Riddler was very disappointed to see that Batman have saved people of Gotham. His plan of flooding the Gotham City was a success for some extent. But his plans were not completely successful. Because of which he was very disappointed and was crying in the cell alone.
But suddenly an unknown character, who was in the next cell started taking to him. The character was talking about failure of The Riddler's plan. He/She was referring The Riddler as his friend. From his way of talking and laugh we can understand that he was the most infamous character of The Joker.
Before the release of the movie we had a rumour of
Barry Keoghan (who played Druig in the Marvel's The Eternals 2021 ) playing The Joker in the movie against Robert Pattinson's Batman. And Director Matt Reeves also confirmed in an interview that there was a scene of Joker with Batman in The Arkham Asylum, when he was not able to solve the riddles of The Riddler. Batman had gone to talk about the riddles of the Riddler in order to solve them. Director also promised us that we will get to see that scene in deleted scenes.
In the second ending we can see Catwoman (Zoe Kravitz) moving out of the Gotham City to start her own normal life in new city peacefully.
From the above endings we can conclude that we might see Joker in next Batman movie, which will be released before 2025 as promised by the producers of the film.
